20150211 update - Bonzer as an eBook !!!
It's Wed 11th February, 2015 (my how time flies). I'm now 70 years old, and climbing ...
Have I progressed with the book? Yes, I have, actually.
I now have an iPad Air, still getting used to it, I like it (sort of) but keep feeling for the mouse and cursor. A steep learning curve ....
Due to the iPad Air, I've discovered the world of eBooks. What a bewildering yet enticing world it is.
You may well have stumbled upon this my blog site through the link I posted to the "skeleton" Bonzer eBook I have somehow managed to upload to Amazon Kindle. I wanted it to be free but for some reason Amazon won't let it be any chaeaper than the minimum $0-99.
So far, I have uploaded (I think) about 60 pages to Amazon Kindle), this is a tiny drop in the ocean, I think just Part 1 of the ?6 part book/series will have over 300 pages.
This is my methodology for getting the book from Microsoft Access converted then uploaded to Amazon Kindle --
- do the book paragraph by paragraph in MS Access
- print off the section of book you wish to upload, in PDF format
- convert the PDF file to ePub format, using a bought program called WonderShare
- edit the ePub file to a nice readable format, using a free program called Sigil (saving it still/again as ePub format, once you are happy with page breaks, lines, Table of Contents, and the metadata)
- convert this improved format ePub file to MOBI format using a bought program called AVS Document Converter
- Open the MOBI file in Kindle Viewer, if any format changes still need to be done, you will have to convert the file back to ePub format (using AVS document converter or similar program) then edit it in Sigil to suit
- Finally, with fingers crossed, upload the Mobi file to the Amazon Kindle site
It was a steep learning curve but what I've uploaded so far looks "cool" .... I just hope I can figure out how to repeat all this when I upload the next lot of the book !!!!!!!
If you think you can afford it, you might like to pay the US$0-99 and see what you think of the first ?60 pages, there's lots more great stuff to come in due course/eventually.
To go straight to the book sale page, google "Amazon Books" , choose the Amazon Kindle e-books result page, then do a search on that page: search on "Bonzer Kermode" --
